EDUC 7102: Storyboard

Collaboration

I haven’t found a good keynote, yet. Still looking. I have looked into Palloff and Pratt, but wasn’t too impressed. Looked into Dr. Conrad, still not sure. Any suggestions?

The Problem:

Students can’t think for themselves.

Video of a group of individuals who are shown in the work place who can’t seem to make a decision.
A. I was thinking a group of people who all agree with one person’s ideas. Then afterwards are shown talking bad about the idea. Then later it is shown that the plan backfired.

The solution:

Collaboration

Video: of the same group, but this time they are collaborating with their peers and collaborating with professionals online.
Purpose of collaborating “Bringing individuals together to support the learning of each member while promoting creativity and critical thinking” (Palloff & Pratt, 2005).
Students K-12 learning to collaborate and learn.
Collaboration used to engage students, promoting learning.
Creating a community
…professional communities
….. learning communities
Working smarter vs. harder or not at all.

Preparing students for the World.

  1. I’ve had a hard time wrapping my head around the topic too. (That’s what one of my blogs is about!) We are introducing a speaker that is introducing a topic and presenting this in a video format. I’ve reviewed keynote speakers to see how they are presented and none of the ones I’ve seen online or in person.are more than 3-4 minutes long. They also focus heavily on the person, not the subject matter. 30% of our grade for the final assignment is on content. I want to make sure I’m not focusing so much on one aspect of the assignment and missing the point of what I am supposed to be doing.

Thank you for your comments. I greatly appreciate your feedback.
